The city itself is large with over 800,000 year round residents. This grows to several million during the South American summer. From November to March (high season December and January) the beaches are full and many gay guys from Latin American send their Summer holidays here!
This is the Atlantic, so the water can be a little cold at times, but the beach is the central focus of the city. The long waterfront promenade, “La Rambla” is the perfct place to get to know the city.
The gay scene is quite busy with two gay beaches, one nead downtown (Playa Chica) and the other, (Playa Escondida) just outside the city. Escondida is also the city’s nude beach. Walk along the beach and you will bump into lots of gay guys!
The city itself is very gay friendly and the bars on Alem Street are mixed with gays and straights. There are also three gay clubs of the city: Extasis Disco is the oldest club in the city; Pin Up Club and Clip Club.
The beaches can get quite busy during the high season. There are two gay beaches, on in the centre, the other out of town, is curisier!
Mar Del Plata has a lively gay scene that gets busy late in the evening so enjoy a siesta and a late meal before partying.
